  • Record 7 Teams Enter 4 Inns Walk

The 4 Inns Walk is a tough competitive event in the Peak District, over some of the roughest moorland in Britain.  It takes its name from the 4 inns along its route – The Isle of Skye (site of), Snake Pass Inn, Nags Head, and the Cat & Fiddle.

The main route is 65k and is open to all and a shorter 35k route is open to Explorer scouts.

This year’s event was another great success with 23 out of the 24 walkers completing their respective route.

In the 35k event the 3 Explorer teams all finished as complete teams.

Team ‘C’ (Tom, Gus, Alex, Edward) 8hrs 35mins. (Finished 8th)

Team ‘B’ (Toby, Josh, Archie, Oliver) 8 hrs 36mins (Finished 9th)

Team ‘A’ (William, David, Will, Ben) 8hrs 44 mins (Finished 11th)

In the category for teams walking without a leader (adult over 18) the teams finished 2nd, 3rd & 4th respectively.

In the 65k event the results were as follows:

    Team ‘E’ (Simon, Philip, Sam) 15hrs 27mins (1 retirement)

    Team ‘F’ (Helen, Joanna, Sheryl) 16hrs 44mins (Finished 53rd)

    Team ‘G’ (Mark B, Mark W, Harriss) 18hrs 04mins (Finished 58th)

Team ‘D’ (Elloise, Emma, Kathryn) 18 hrs 11mins (Finished 62nd)

Team ‘F’ also finished 2nd in the Novice completion and Team ‘D’ finished 3rd in the Novice competition and 3rd in the Fastest Scout Team all under 25 competition.

Congratulations to everyone who took part and special thanks to Jon, David, Tiny and Mark who made up the support team.
